James Edward Chevrier

Our world sadly lost an exceptional gentleman, when James Chevrier, fondly known as Chevy, passed away from a courageous and arduous battle with cancer. His strength and determination were unwavering.

Jim is survived by his daughters Jenny Arsenault (Ed) and Laurie Chevrier, their mother Shirley Chevrier, grandchildren Eden & Garet Arsenault, Suzanne & Mike Cardinal and their children Julie & Joel, along with many loving relatives. Jim is reunited in heaven with his parents, Georges & Rose, two brothers, Roger & Claude, and his sister Lillian.

He began his occupation and retired as a dedicated miner. He had an ambitious and an entrepreneurial spirit. He was the original owner of Chevy’s Bait & Tackle variety store in Porcupine, Ontario. As a nature lover, he enjoyed walks around Hersey Lake in Timmins, with Suzanne and the “doggers". Spending summers at the camp in Lac Kanasuta, and in his back yard oasis were truly his happy places. He especially enjoyed being surrounded by the company of family and friends.

Jim’s extraordinary presence will be sorely missed, and the significant loss is indescribable. His generosity and kindness knew no bounds. He was a gem and a ray of sunshine! His beautiful soul, charming smile, jokes and laughter, will live on in the hearts of everyone he engaged with. THANK YOU, CHEVY, for being a rare blessing. Soar high with God.

The family would like to thank and extend their appreciation to Dr. Paul Armstrong, The Northeast Cancer Centre. Stronach Regional Cancer Centre, and Southlake Hospital. An intimate Celebration of Life and Interment will be held later. In lieu of donations, it was Jim’s wish for all to raise a glass and remember good times.
