Toronto

James Kevin Kelleher, better known as Kevin, died on Wednesday, May 31st, 2023 while riding his bike near the Humber River.  Kevin was 79 years old and had lived in Toronto for over 40 years. He is survived by a brother Tom in Minnesota, USA; a sister, Mary from Washington State, USA; nieces and a nephew along with their families and many cousins across the US; also, by  his beloved cat Harry.  Kevin was born in Minnesota and served in the US Air Force stationed in Europe.  Later he attended college in Minnesota, he received his Master's Degree from the University of Winnipeg then was a PhD candidate at Queen’s University at Kingston.  While at University, he started a business, Minotaur from which he retired about 10 years ago.  Kevin traveled extensively for business and pleasure.  His great loves included travel, biking, music, and photography.  Kevin had many wonderful friends across Toronto and the world.  A good friend wrote: “that Kevin was a deeply fascinating man,  voracious reader, life-long learner, intellectually gifted, a wonderful storyteller, of strong beliefs and opinions, kind and warm-hearted and a debonair dresser.” In addition to making donations to many charitable groups - most recently to the Red Cross to assist care in Ukraine - Kevin financially supported a family in Nepal for many years. He will be greatly missed by all. Kevin requested that there be no service. Please remember him by doing something kind for someone else or giving to a favorite charity.
