It is with profound sadness that the friends of James Edmund O’Neill (Jim) announce his passing. Jim’s family was the Fellowship of Alcoholic’s Anonymous where he befriended, counseled, and mentored many using a mixture of wisdom, empathy, kindness and integrity. Jim appreciated the arts — he was an avid reader, loved old movies and musical theatre, and took acting classes well into his eighties. Jim will be remembered for many things, but above all his signature booming laugh and the smile he always wore.
Jim was born in England on October 26th, 1929. He was 93 years old when he passed at the palliative unit of Michael Garron Hospital on August 5th, 1923. Many thanks to the staff at MGH and Nisbitt Lodge, and his friends, for making Jim’s final months as comfortable as possible.
“We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.”
