WALLACE, James Alexander 1928 – 2016
It is with much sorrow that I inform you of the death of James Alexander Wallace (Jim) on April 7, 2016 in the presence of his wife, Joan.
Jim was born on the Royal Estate in Crathie, Scotland, and his childhood years were spent in Ballinluig, Perthshire.
Predeceased by daughter Beverley Anderson, parents James and Beatrice Wallace, sister Heather and brother Edgar.
Jim served with the Royal Airforce in Germany from 1946 to 1949.
Inducted into the Masonic Lodge, St. Andrew No. 814, Pitlochry.
Jim came to Canada as a young man where he met and married Joan, the love of his life.
He was the world’s best salesman, gourmet cook, amateur magician, comedian, exceptional dancer and story teller extraordinaire. He had a life long interest in antique clocks and watches and participated in many antique shows along with his wife Joan.
He had a delightful Scottish sense of humour, never raised his voice in anger, a positive attitude on life and everyone he met was his friend. And he always marched to the beat of his own drummer.
After Jim’s retirement from Prescott and Company, he and Joan spent many happy winters as ‘snowbirds’ in Florida, as well as holidaying in Scotland, their second home.
He will be sorely missed by his family and friends both in Canada and the U.K.
As per his wishes, there will be no funeral.
“Had we never met, or never parted, we had ne’er been broken hearted.”
