James Westhouse of Ridgeway, Ontario, a life-long resident of Ridgeway and Crystal Beach, passed away peacefully, in hospital on Thursday, June 6 in his 82nd year.
James was born on Feb 2, 1931 in Snyder, Ontario to the late Henry and Catherine Westhouse (Westhuis) of Crystal Beach, Ontario, who emigrated from Holland. James married Geraldine Luedtke (now Berry) in September, 1957 and was married a second time briefly to Elsie Westhouse.
James was an electrician by trade and worked at Fleet Aircraft for many years until he started his own business. James was an amateur radio operator and had interests in photography, solar power, travel and kites. An imaginative and inventive man James tinkered with many projects including a solar powered tricycle.
James was predeceased by his mother and father, his brothers Chris, Ralph, Gary and John and his sisters Effie and Ada. He is survived by his sister Eva of British Columbia and his brother Clarence of Hamilton, Ontario; his three children: Douglas and Barbara Westhouse of Dauphin, Manitoba; Robert and Jane Westhouse of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; David and Karen Westhouse of London, Ontario. He also is survived by four grandchildren Tracy Morneau Suru, Tim Morneau, Paul and Katie Westhouse.

As per the request of James there will be no funeral service. A private gathering will be arranged for the fall in the town of Crystal Beach to honour his life. Contact his son David Westhouse for details.
