James (Jim) Henry Alexander McKee

November 1, 1959 — July 18, 2019

Jim passed away peacefully Thursday July 18th 2019 at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie in his 60th year. Jim was born in Leamington Ontario on November 1, 1959. He graduated from Kingsville District High School. He went on to serve in the California San Jose Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1979-1981. In 1985, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario. Jim was married to Suzanne McKee (nee Williamson) on April 14, 1982 in the Washington DC Temple. They were married 37 years. He worked in the plastics industry for over 30 years, inventing many products for the building industry. He had a great sense of humour, which continued to be reflected even while in hospice. He loved his family, Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. He will be sadly missed by his wife Suzanne and three children: Andrea (Lawrence) Garrett, Mark (Brigitte) McKee and Taylor (Sarah) McKee, his six grandchildren: Creed, Elle, Charlotte, Monte, Nate and Kai, brother Tom (Ruth) McKee, nieces and nephews and the rest of his family and friends. Jim is predeceased by his parents Harry McKee and Ione Paton, as well as his brother David (Judy) and sisters Heather (Peter) and Patricia (Bill). In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Hospice Simcoe in Barrie. The family of Jim McKee want to express heartfelt thanks to hospice for their great compassion and care. Suzanne feels that words cannot express her gratitude for the staff, volunteers and the outstanding facility. Everyone is invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 27th at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 79 Ferris Lane, Barrie, with a light luncheon to follow. Visitation and burial are private: family only.  The McKee family would like to thank The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their love and support.
