Janet Downey

Our dear mother, sister, wife and friend Janet, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Dec 4 2024. Born March 6, 1940, she leaves behind the love of her life, Bernard, who adored her with all his heart, her best friend and sister (Joan (Paul), two daughters and step daughter (Elan (Mark), Lynn (Roy), Julia (Jim)) step son Alan (Ann), 6 grandchildren and step grandchildren (Dakota(Steph), Kaomi(Dillan), Cole, Reily(Cohen), Michael(Laura), Thomas(Aimee), and 7 great grandchildren (Jane, Gwen, Tyler, Maya, Thomas, Rhythm, Essence), nephews Christopher (Nancy) Phillip (Kathleen), great nephew CJ, great niece Sophie, and special niece Ann (Mark). In the past day it has become very apparent how many friends she had which was a testament to her love of being around people. She talked to everyone easily and earnestly about her family, whom she loved, proudly sharing stories of their lives and achievements. She remained active by teaching aquafit for many years as well as voluntarily leading an exercise program in her building in Kemptville. Janet lived her life in Ontario and Saskatchewan, leaving many across the miles who will miss her letters, call, emails, chats. 

Memorial services are yet to be determined and will be posted once finalized.
