Jason Mayhew

It is with great sadness that we announce that Jason Neil Mayhew lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.  Jason was 41 years old.

Loving partner to Marie-France Filion and proud father of Jakob and Xavier Filion-Mayhew.  Loving son to Deborah and Lawrence Mayhew. Dear brother of Kelly and Kyle Mayhew. Uncle Jay to Tristin McAllister, Zachary, Keigan and Olivia Shipman.

Nephew to Stephen (Noreen)Young, and Robert Young (Daniel Hamelin).  Great nephew to a large extended family.

Jason was an avid sportsman, learning to love the outdoors. As a young boy, he learned to love hunting with his great-grandfather. He continued this sport throughout his adult life and enjoyed hearing others share their hunting and fishing experiences.  He passed on his love of fishing to his boys and could also be found many times out on the ice with them in the winter.

He worked with Taillefer Plumbing and Heating (TPH) and appreciated the support they showed him during his illness.

Jason showed enormous courage and strength during his illness, never willing to give up.  He will be profoundly missed by all. Thank you to Dr. D. Flynn, Dr. Reaume and Dr. Froeschl.

Respecting Jason’s wishes, only a private Celebration of Life will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jason’s name to CHEO would be appreciated.
