Jason Franklyn Vidito graced this world with his presence on August 7, 1984, born in North York, Toronto. Jason lived his 38 years fast passing away at home (Oro-Medonte, ON) on December 20, 2022.
Jason for the most part, grew up in the Caledonia/Eglington W. neighbourhood of Toronto. He got in and out of trouble but honed his athletic skills into football. Come 1998, Jason’s father, John Franklin “Frank” Vidito (of Nova Scotia – predeceased on February 28, 2021 – age 68) moved him and his brother, John Vidito to Bradford, ON to raise his sons away from the city. Jason continued playing football for Bradford District High School until he got injured and then saw no need to attend. In Bradford, Jason made life-long friends with his loyalty and larger than life personality. Eventually Frank made his final move with his sons to Barrie, ON in 2002.
Fate brought Jason and Brittany (Zaba – wife) together meeting at a bus stop in 2003. It was love at first sight for Jason. A great friendship was formed and the two united their lives together getting married in Shanty Bay, ON, on June 27, 2009. Jason and Brittany took on the world together living a deeply rooted in love, committed relationship. Through hard times and good, they made a dear family for themselves with beloved pets starting with Jason’s proclaimed, “1st born” Big Red (Cat – 18 years and going).
Jason put off a tough exterior to those that didn’t know him but once overlooked, Jason was an authentic person who wasn’t afraid to be who he was. He stood up for the weak and voiced his opinions whether in daily life or his involvement in politics and vast comprehension of history. Jason was generous, compassionate, selfless and had a huge heart for animals. He found himself in his eclectic taste in music that also helped him express himself. A very short list of favourites includes Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Ramones, Nirvana, Johnny Cash and Wu-Tang Clan. Jason was always proud of his Irish ancestry which was depicted by his first tattoo. He was a great talker whether conversing about his wide range of knowledge and interests, recounting stories of family and friends or just making you laugh. Along with this, Jason was also a good listener. He enjoyed long phone conversations, keeping up relationships and caring about others. He always had the time of day for anyone and everyone.
Although Jason left this world way too soon and will be greatly missed, his Christian faith brings peace and hope that we will meet again. Jason’s light will shine on through his cherished nephews Ben and Brian (Vidito). He will also live on through beloved family members, close friends and their children.
A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date. Memorial donations to the Hospital for Sick Children (http://gofundraise.sickkidsfoundation.com/goto/Jason_Vidito or call (416)-813-6166) would honour Jason’s memory as it was close to his heart.
Beloved Husband, Youngest Brother, Proud Uncle, God Father (Christian Clydesdale – Glover- predeceased July 14, 2009 – Age 2) and irreplaceable friend.
Never to be forgotten, Punk till the end.
