Jean Bentley Johnston

Unexpectedly, on Thursday, April 18, 2019, Jean B. Johnston (nee Bentley) passed away in her Toronto home at the age of 85. Survived by her brother David and family (in England), and nephew Nicolas and family, wife Janet, children Jennifer, Kathryn, and Alex (in Canada). Born in Newby, England, Jean moved to Canada at the age of 18, settling in Toronto, worked at Proctor and Gamble, and where she met her husband William Cameron Johnston (deceased 1993). Jean was a loving aunt and active community member very involved in volunteering with the Toronto Botanical Gardens, the Royal Scottish Dancing Society and the University of Toronto. Jean was kind and welcoming to all she met and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be taking place at the Toronto Botanical Gardens Friday, May 31, 2019 from 2 to 6pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Toronto Botanical Gardens in Jean's name
