DAVIDSON, Jennifer Lynn (nee Nickerson) passed away peacefully at the University Hospital in London, ON, after a long battle with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy.
Jennifer will be dearly missed by family and friends especially her mother Catherine Nickerson of London, brother Michael (Janice) Nickerson of Toronto, Aunt Helene Neilson of Ashton, ON, Aunt Joyce Barrett of Fredericton, and good friend Ann Schnurr and her family of Toronto.
Jennifer had a full life until her diagnosis at the age of 35. She had many fun family vacations, a school trip to Germany and trips to Mexico and Jamaica with friends. Her teenage years were happily spent at the barn with her horse Harvey. It was at the barn that she met her good friend Ann. Several trophies and pictures decorated her apartment and were a reminder of the wonderful times.
Jennifer was briefly married, graduated from Seneca College in secretarial studies and worked for an insurance company prior to her illness taking hold.
Jennifer worked hard to remain active. She was secretary to the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc. (London Chapter) for several years. She stayed in contact with friends and relatives and her “gift of the gab” would have hour-long chats seem like moments in time. She would plan strategically to have energy to go out and then have time to recoup.
Through it all Jennifer rarely complained about her pain and depression. She looked to the brighter side and the love, strength and support of family and friends.
A Celebration of Life is planned for the Fall. Please contact Ann Schnurr (ann_schnurr@yahoo.ca) for information. Donations can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The family would like to thank the University Hospital staff for the care and kindness given to Jennifer over the last 3 weeks of her life.
