Bradley, Joan (nee Griffin). On Wednesday, September 25, 2019, with family at her side, lost her difficult battle with Alzheimer's at the age of 85 at St. Patrick's home in Ottawa Ontario.
A private family celebration of her life was held in her honour.
Joan emigrated from England in 1946 after the war, meeting Lester in Ottawa where she lived for the rest of her days.
She leaves her loving husband Lester and two children John (Cindy) and Andrew (Helen) with many fond memories of big birthdays, Christmas and New Years festivities.
"Grammy" will be lovingly remembered by her favorite people in the world, her three granddaughters; Leah, Charlotte and Charlie. She will be greatly missed by her brother Mike, his wife, Carol and good friend, Marilyn. She was immensely proud of her family and adored doting on her grand daughters and was a regular super fan at their summer and winter sports. Joan was legendary for the love of her dogs and was often seen "not so discreetly" slipping them treats. Joan was an amazing cook and would spend hours cooking big feasts and creating desserts for family dinners. Joan especially loved a good laugh (especially at herself) and thought the world would be a better place if we could all laugh a little more.
Many thanks to St Patrick's home and to all the staff for taking care of Grammy in her final years.
Those who so desire may make donations in her memory to the Alzheimer's Society or the Ottawa Humane Society and find a reason to laugh.
