Joan Verna Ferens

Ferens, Joan Verna passed away on August 13th, 2022 at the age of 87 at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie.

Loving wife of the late Michael Ferens, mother of Joanne Bennie (Jeff), Michael Ferens (Karen), Sheryl Bevan (Paul), Cathy Ferens (Bart); grandmother to Laura, Christopher, Lisa (Damin), Kylie, Matthew, Douglas, Michaela, Siy. As well as 6 grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Joan will be sadly missed by her siblings Marj, Pat, Bill and many of her Sandy Cove friends.

Joan was an outgoing, full of life person who will be remembered for her energetic, enthusiastic, honest, "say it like it is" personality. Joan's role in the Girl Guide's of Canada as a leader and Division Commissioner was a testimony as to how much she loved children. Joan belonged and ran many clubs and sat on the committee for the Spoke in Sandy Cove Retirement Village.

A lot of her children's friends will remember her for her swear jar and her chili at their parties. Joan will be greatly missed and has had a rich, full life with many memories that everyone who knows Joan can look back on and smile.
