Joan Anne (Hardy) Park

Joan Anne Park (née Hardy) passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in her 89th year. Joan was predeceased by parents, Evelyn and John (Jack) Hardy; her loving husband, Bruce William Park; and her daughter, Susan Lynn Roberts (née Trowell). Joan will be greatly missed by her sister, Carol Johnson (Dave); and her children John Trowell (Chris), Sharon Gray (Robert Norrie), Greg Park (Beth), and Kim Côté (Andre); as well as her son-in-law Frank Roberts. Joan leaves behind 9 grandchildren, William Trowell (Amy), Jennifer Snyder (Jeff), Rebecca Gray (Scott Senuick), Lance Gray Jr (Sherry), Christina Roberts, Sheri Roberts (Ron), Michael Roberts (Lauren), Sarah Park (Rory), and Mathieu Côté (Krystal). Joan was also blessed with 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great children.

In her younger years Joan loved to play baseball. She was also an avid swimmer, having, among other accomplishments, trained in Lake Ontario with the likes of Marilyn Bell and was coached by Gus Ryder. During her married life with Bruce, she enjoyed many adventures and shenanigans, and often recounted numerous stories that always brought a smile to her face.

At her request, there will be no service. However, she would have been appreciative of donations made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or your local cat/kitten shelter. Her family will be holding a small private gathering to celebrate her life.

Joan may be gone but she will always be loved and never forgotten.
