Joan Ellen Sutton

Joan Ellen Sutton passed away peacefully May 30th, 2019 in Ottawa after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born in New Liskeard, Ontario, trained as a teacher and had a long career in Toronto as an elementary school teacher and principal. She retired to New Liskeard and was active in the community until her illness halted her passions. She was a feisty, independent soul that loved music, art and literature.

She is survived by her brother Ray and her son Gregory Penner (Connie), and grandchildren Geoff and Katie Penner.

The family extends its sincere gratitude and deepest thanks to all the staff on the 4th Floor at West End Villa (Extendicare) in Ottawa for the many years of caring for Joan.
