Born Joan Evelyn Price on August 14, 1932 to parents Alberta Warner and William F. Price, she was one of 6 children.
Joan met her husband Bruce John Trowell through “Young Peoples Club” in Toronto and were married in Westmorland church, Toronto in 1952. The couple were blessed with two daughters Gail Ann and Sandra Joan (1956-1981). Joan loved children giving her time whenever the opportunity arose. She volunteered for many years and headed Roses for Research campaigning many years for Heart and Stroke Foundation, Fish the Good Neighbour, Meals on Wheels with her friend Lyn Foster. She was named Brampton’s Volunteer of the Year for her dedication.
Following Bruce’s death, Joan married long time family friend Donald Turner Foster and lived happily in Bramalea for many years.
When her health started to fail she became a resident of Brampton Extendicare where she passed away peacefully November 14, 2023 at 9:15pm surrounded by those who cared for her.
Joan and her brother Ross Warner Price were the last siblings of the Price family. Ross passed away on the same evening as Joan, he was at the Southlake Regional Hospital.
They were close sister and brother, they will be together and remembered.
