Joan Ann Carroll (Walton), age 71, passed away peacefully September 5, 2019 after an eleven month courageous battle with cancer. Born February 20, 1948 in Liverpool, England, loving daughter of James and Ellen Carroll (predeceased), Joan followed her love of travel and adventure and immigrated to Alberta, Canada in 1974. Joan’s life was one of selflessness, kind heartedness, humor, and complete devotion to her children and grandchildren. Joan carried a cherished and unbreakable bond with her family in the United Kingdom. Joan is survived by son James (Laura), daughter Kelly, grandchildren Meghan, Malcolm, Joshua, and Noah. Brothers Paul (Celine), Alan, and sister Jan. Joan was a beloved sister in law and Auntie to many in the U.K and Canada, with treasured friends in Ottawa and in the Niagara Region. We find comfort in knowing that your suffering has come to an end, that you are at peace, and have been reunited with your loving parents in God’s Holy Kingdom. Mum, you will forever be missed, remembered and loved. Rest easy until we meet again. Please join us in celebrating Joan’s life in a reception at Hope Cemetery, 4660 Bank St., Ottawa, on Friday, September 13, 2019 between 1:30 and 4pm.
