Joanne E. Moroney was a 76-year-old woman who died on Feb. 15 leaving behind a daughter, Lori, three beautiful grandkids, Grace, Gabriel and Joy, and an extended family of relatives and friends. She was a strong, fiercely loyal and proud person who loved reading, gambling, and spending time with her family and friends (likely in that order). Joanne’s outrageous and eccentric sense of humour was a joy to behold. She loved making people laugh and would go to almost any lengths to facilitate that. While she loved being with others (particularly her grandkids), she also valued her alone time, when she would read voraciously and think up various good ideas she had which she would call up others (usually her daughter) and have lengthy, involved discussions about just how good they were. She was so generous, so often giving of herself, her time, her money, to others and rarely giving to herself. Joanne was predeceased by her husband, Phil, who didn’t know what to do until she told him, but who loved being her partner in crime. She is also predeceased by her youngest daughter, Sharon, who she loved so much, had such fun with and missed enormously. Joanne has made an enormous impact on many, most especially her daughter Lori and her dear friend, Michelle. She will be so deeply missed by her family and friends and it is our great blessing that she is smiling on us from Heaven; pain-free, joyful, and able to move about with ease and grace.
