VIDREIRO, Joao Salvador passed away peacefully at his home, on March 2nd, 2017, after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Maria Vidreiro (Andrade) and children Ana Ritsma-Moore (Steve), Carlos, Jon (Kerrilee) and Cristina Weicker (Rory). He is also survived by his sisters Maria da Conceicao Pascoa, Gloria da Paula, Gil Vidreiro and 9 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Rosa Ferreira and by son in law Bill Ritsma (2000).
Joao was born June 21, 1940 in Gafanha Da Nazare, Portugal. He worked as a Marine Machinist before moving with his family to Stratford, Ontario in 1970.
He will be remembered for his love of nature, birds, and animals. He will be sadly missed by his family..
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11th at Williamsburg Chapel (Kitchener) from 10:30am to 12:30pm with the funeral service immediately to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Kitchener CCAC Palliative Care Unit.
