John Edward George Leach
(Eddie) born March 9, 1933 to Fred and Sylvia (nee Smith) Leach, peacefully passed away on December 30, 2020.
Husband of Loretta (nee Ledyit) Leach for 63 years. Devoted and loving father to Curtis and Carmen Leach.
Loving grandfather to Sierra and Dryden Aldworth, great-grandfather to Gracelyn and Paisley Aldworth.
The only brother to 6 sisters Joan, Shirley, Ellen. Predeceased by Rita, Ruby, and Gloria. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Dad worked for the Toronto Board of Education for 33 years retiring in 1995 as Chief Stationary Engineer at Danforth Tech.
Dad was a highly intelligent, compassionate, quiet, and strong man. He was a well-read man that would read anything and everything! Correcting newspapers spelling, grammar and an occasional textbook was his forte.
I can’t put in words what a wonderful man Dad was. There will always be a void in our lives. Whether it was fighting monsters, comforting a sad child, or fixing breakdowns on our trips up North. He took it all in stride. No man could fill his shoes. We will miss you Dad! A million tears we cry, we will keep you in our hearts always. Thank you for being our Dad. Sleep in peace. Love Carmen, Curtis and Mom.
P.S. Thanks for letting me win at scrabble once.
Our thanks to the wonderful staff at Heritage Nursing Home that kept Dad safe and comfortable this last year.
With heartfelt gratitude to Nadia and the staff, thank you so very much for helping us with the Skype calls each week.
The family would appreciate donations to Alzheimer's Society of Canada in lieu of flowers.
