John Schrauwen

John passed away Sunday July 28, 2013 at the age of 78 years after a courageous battle with cancer. John was predeceased by his parents Jan and Mina and brothers Gerard, Alfons, Toon, Bart, Frank & Frank’s wife Jean, brother in law Wim. He will be lovingly be remembered by his brothers Adrian (Sylvia), Piet (Leny), Guus (Rietje) and sisters Jaantje (Leo), Corrie (Joop), Anny, Mieke (Cees), Jeanne (Christian), Agnes (Kees), Els (Jan). He will be cherished by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Holland. Nieces and nephews John, Mary Anne (Jamie), Ken, Mark, Jeff (Kelly), Ray (Wendy) who enjoyed many special memories from their childhood and until his final moments in Canada. John will also be greatly missed by grand nieces Rachel, Arijana, Amanda, Michelle & Kathy from Canada also brother Toon’s wife Corrie and nephew Jan(Marion) from Holland.
John lived a very simple quite life. He loved reading and walking and enjoyed auctions in his early days and spent lots of time with his family and their children. Many vacations together at a cottage in Sauble Beach are remembered by nieces and nephews. Trips to Turkey point and other events will never be forgotten. Great memories of all our family history in Canada and Holland were always great fun.
A graveside burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 600 Spring Gardens Road, Burlington, Ontario, L7T 1J1 on August 1st at 11:00 am.
