John (Sonny) Melvin Morrison

After a difficult battle with cancer, we are heartbroken to announce the passing of John (Sonny) Morrison on Monday, June 13, 2022 at the age of 64.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Mary Jean, daughters Carrie, Jessica (Ryan Cox), Crystal (James Savage), grandsons Ethan and Victor, and brothers Alan and Steven.

John was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and lived the majority of his adult life in Ontario. Throughout his life he worked in a wide variety of fields but spent most of his career employed as a truck driver, which allowed him to see much of the country.

He embraced the outdoors and loved hunting in Alberta, ice fishing in Muskoka, and glamping at Camp Hillbilly. John made some of his very best memories in the summers at his trailer with Mary Jean. He loved having campfires with friends, barbecuing and indulging in pot lucks and dinners around the park.

John will be remembered fondly for his “witty” sense of humor.

The family would like to thank the RVH cancer care team for their exceptional compassion, care, and support throughout this entire journey.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the RVH Cancer Care Clinic.

A celebration of life with close friends and family will take place at a later date.
