Joseph Gordon Stokes

Joseph Gordon Stokes passed away peacefully at his residence Stirling Heights LTC in Cambridge, Ontario on December 25 2017 in his 95th year.
He was a Veteran of WWII and served overseas Gord was born June 4 1923 in Toronto, Ontario to Annie Violet Stokes Grandfather William Stokes and Grandmother Della Cook. Gord originally married Vera (Marie) Lockey and they had 8 children He is survived by his daughters Sharon Gans (Louie),Mary Samis and stepdaughters Kelly Kennedy and Sharon Cooney. His sons Mike (Judy) Stokes and David Stokes and stepsons Kevin Cooney (Connie)and Michael Cooney He is preceded in death by his wife Doreen,his daughters Rose Marie Meness and Donna Tuttle and his sons Kenneth and Edward. Gord was a grandfather and great grandfather and will be sorely missed by all.
A very heartfelt Thank You to all the staff at Stirling Heights LTC for their great compassion and extra special care and the personal connections to the man they all referred to as “Gord” the man with the great smile.
Cremation has taken place and an Interment service will be held at a later date in London, Ontario.
A mass in his memory will be arranged by Kelly in Ajax,Ontario Also a mass in Sutton, Ontario area by Mike Stokes
