It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joyce Marilyn Dick (nee Bulmer), in her 76th year after a long fight with Dementia. Joyce passed away, January 26, 2024 at the Granite Ridge Home in Stittsville, Ontario.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Bob McKenna, and her children Sharon Letwin, Steve Dick, and her stepsons, Christian and Ryan, along with many grandchildren, who all loved her dearly.
Joyce was a very pretty woman with a great personality and humour, who worked hard all her life, brought up her younger siblings, then her children, and took care of her parents when they got older. She had a beautiful smile that she shared with others, a laugh a minute, feisty when she needed to be, and didn’t back down from anything or anyone. And she did love her wine!
Joyce worked at Bank of Montreal for 24 years, then many years as a private bookkeeper, where she excelled for her customers.
A huge thank you to all our relatives and good friends who supported us through this long journey, especially Doug and Miche McKenna, who visited her at the Residence every week without fail. And to Ellen McKenna who went in to feed her every weekend, when Joyce couldn’t do it herself anymore.
In keeping with Joyce’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held when the weather is better for travellers; date to be determined.
Donations, in her memory, can be made to the Dementia and/or Alzheimer’s Societies.
Honey, you will be sadly missed forever.
