Judith Katherine Ghan, 76
With sadness we report the death on June 23, 2018 of our beloved mother, sister and friend.
Judith Katherine Ghan is survived by her daughter Susan (Larry Sue-Ping), son David (Paula Goncalves), grandchildren George and Kate Sue-Ping and Daniel and Natalia Ghan, and sister Bess Jillings (Robert Kennedy). She also leaves extended family members and dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Leonard Ghan.
Judith was born on November 15, 1941 in Lethbridge, Alberta to Ross and Jean Anderson. She was brought up in Burnaby, BC and Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
She studied ballet in Regina, Saskatchewan and London, England and became a member of the Royal Academy of Dance. She taught dance for many years in Regina and White Rock, BC. In 1984, Judith joined the City of White Rock Finance department and retired in 2006. She moved to Scarborough, Ontario following the death of her husband Leonard in 2008 and lived with her family until her death.
Judith thoroughly enjoyed both her working and private life and had a gift for friendship. Her outlook on life inspired others and sustained her through difficult times. The family greatly appreciate the care Judith received from Dr. A. Razak and the staff at Mount Sinai Hospital as well as Scarborough home care staff and the Providence House Palliative Care Unit. Lynne Collins, a very special friend, supported Judith during her long battle with cancer.
Although no service is planned, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Mount Sinai. If you would like to contact Judith's family, please email seg2761@gmail.com.
