RIDER, Judith “Judi” Gail - We are deeply saddened to share that Judith Gail Rider passed away on Saturday March 2, 2019 in Barrie, Ontario at the age of 65. Judi was born in Montreal, Quebec on Sunday, February 28, 1954. Her parents were Elsie and Thomas Hussey. She is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Lawrence Rider, her three children Sean, David & Ashley Rider, her brother Michael Hussey and her beloved dogs Mango & Missy. Judi was a loving wife, caring mother, supportive sister and an incredible friend who touched the lives of many. Judi was always ready to help others and often put their needs above her own. She lived every day with her heart on her sleeve. Judi played field hockey as a young woman and graduated from Bramalea Secondary School. She and her brother fondly referred to each other as Brother Mine and Sister Mine. They were each other’s pragmatic and emotional counterparts. Judi worked for Allandale School Transit as a bus driver and in the office at Simcoe County Airport Service. She just celebrated her 30 year work anniversary. She was passionate about her work and even from her hospital bed was concerned about getting her work done and supporting her colleagues. Judi loved getting her hair done and catching up with friends, dining out with her husband every Saturday night, and shopping endlessly for herself and others. She was an avid gardener, cooker & baker and loved trying new recipes. Her home shows her heart, beautifully decorated with countless pictures of her family. Judi was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She will be forever missed” A memorial gathering as a celebration of life will be held at the JENNETT FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTRE, 152 Bradford Street in Barrie on Sunday, March 10, 2019 between 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
