In Loving Memory

BURROWS, Karen Beatrice (Student at George Brown College) passed peacefully with family by her side at Humber River Hospital in Toronto, on Saturday August 21, 2021.

Karen was the loving mother of Sean. Sister to the late Gord (Beverleyann). Aunt to Gordon (Rhonda) and Great-Aunt to Samantha and Patrick.

Karen will be sadly missed by her family, friends, professors and mentors (Daniela and Mary).

Karen was an accomplished painter and a published writer. At the time of passing, Karen was attending George Brown College to be come a Community Social Worker, (making the ‘Dean’s List’ several times and winning a BMO scholastic award).

As a survivor of Mental illness, Karen became an inspiration to so many people, spreading hope and shinning her light everywhere she went.

Over the years, Karen participated in social groups like “C.O.R.E.” and “What Next”. Karen gave many public speeches about Mental Illness and celebrating International Women’s Day.

Even though Karen is no longer with us, her story will continue to inspire and her message of hope will be never ending.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions a service and memorial will not be held at this time. Online condolences and pictures may be shared on the tribute wall of this obituary page.
