Karlson Bolestridge

September 21, 1958 — March 3, 2021

Karlson (Fritz) Leif Bolestridge passed away suddenly, with family by his side, on March 3, 2021 at the age of 62, after a dynamic life full of family, friends and adventure.

Karl will forever be remembered with love by his daughter, Chantal Sylvain (Kyle) and lifelong best friend, Lynn Sylvain. Beloved Grandpa “Boogie” to Soleil and Felix. He will be greatly missed by his brothers Roger (Patricia), Neilson, Erickson, Kijson, Keirson and by his sisters Karen (Frank) and Krista.

Karl will also be remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews Sean, Melissa, Krista, Amanda, Jason (Lisa), Christopher (Amber), Adam (Sonya), Melissa, Kelsey, Krystyn (Zach), Billy, Sarah (Joe) and Bryce. He will not be forgotten by many great nieces, great nephews and many friends. Karl was predeceased by his mother, Daphne, father, Earnest  his brother, Thorson and his former brother in law Clyde.

Karl brought boundless energy and enthusiasm to all aspects of his life including his passions for loud music, joking around, and outdoor adventure. He loved camping and cooking but most of all he loved being a father and grandfather and spending time with family and friends.

Karl was born and raised in Ottawa and worked many interesting jobs in his life that brought him joy and friendship. He was always found wearing a smile, making a witty remark, or whistling while he worked.

He also enjoyed reading a good Stephen King novel or being the “family potato masher king” at any gathering. He made the best chili billi known to exist and was always up for an adventure, an innocent prank, or to lend a helping hand to a friend.

Friends and family will be invited to attend a celebration of Karl’s life, which will be held later in 2021. Details about the time and place will follow. As you remember Karl please crank up your favourite song as loud as it can play as this is what Karl would have wanted you to do to celebrate his life.

Many thanks to the ICU team at the Ottawa General Hospital for their compassionate care in his last day of life.
