With incredible heartbreak, we announce the sudden passing of Kelly James Lee.
Kelly was born in Alberta but moved to Toronto in 1989. In 1995, he met Mabel and they were inseparable from that day forward. They married in 1999.
Kelly had a love for life, laughter and friends, always wanting to make others laugh. His goal was to make Mabel laugh every single day. He became a paramedic in 2005 and spent years working in the film industry as a set medic. Then life threw serious illness after illness at him, ultimately disabling him from working at the calling he had trained so hard for. He took his last breath on December 26, 2023 at the age of 57.
Kelly is survived by his wife Mabel, his stepfather Val, his sister Jodi, and his aunts, uncles, and many cousins and other extended family around the world. Kelly was predeceased by his parents Gail and Ron, his uncles Peter and Rick as well as his younger sister Bianca.
A memorial to share stories, laugh and celebrate Kelly’s life will be held at The Frog, a Firkin Pub firkinpubs.com/thefrogandfirkin on Saturday, January 13, 2024 starting at 5:30PM. This pub was where Kelly met his Mabes for the first time. The address is 4854 Yonge Street, North York M2N 5N2.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation heartandstroke.ca in remembrance and honour of Kelly James Lee.
