Kenneth Robb

April 19, 1952 — June 14, 2021

Kenneth (Kenny) Robb passed away peacefully in hospital on June 14, 2021 after a battle with cancer.  Kenny is predeceased by his parents Marguerite (O’Connor) Robb and Joseph A. Robb.  He is survived, and will be sadly missed, by his sisters and brothers, Brenda Facette (Claude (deceased)), Terry, Pat, Lynn Crosbie (Mike), Buddy, Kevin, Cheryl (Ken) and Mark (Daniela), and his many nieces and nephews.  He will also be missed by his former work colleagues and friends at Carleton University (C&W Services).

Kenny was a quiet and gentle man, always wanting to please and to make people laugh.  He picked up a guitar at the age of six and never stopped playing until recently.  He loved to hunt and be outdoors and as a child would often be seen with a slingshot or a BB gun in hand.  As an adult he realized the plight of many animals, especially polar bears, and wanted to help in any way he could.  In early 2020, we were fortunate enough to make a family trip to the Toronto Zoo to see the polar bears.  Kenny was very proud that before he passed away he was able to make substantial donations to the charities that were near and dear to his heart: Toronto Zoo (primarily for a feeding program for the polar bears), CHEO (for the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic), Cystic Fibrosis Canada and the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (for cancer research).  Kenny would be pleased if anyone wished to make a donation in his memory to any of these charities.

Kenny figured out how to solve the Rubik’s cube puzzle when he was a teenager and would often show anyone who cared to watch how quickly he could solve it.  Recently, he was able to show his palliative care nurse how it was done as she watched in amazement (she was assessing him for signs of dementia).

Kenny is looking forward to eventually seeing his family and many friends in heaven and to greeting those already there.  Bon voyage Ken!  We will miss you very much.
