Kenneth Michael Tamar

August 3, 1937 — December 30, 2014

Kenneth Michael Tamar, was born on August 3, 1937 in St. Georges, Grenada to Carlton Tamar, late of The Glen, Mt. Gay, St Georges and Iris Hayling-Baird of the Wharf, St. Georges.

Kenneth spent his formative years in the home of his Grand Father, James Tamar, where he acquired and mastered the family trades, carpentry and plumbing. As a young man, Kenneth lived a very adventurous life, full of travel and business endeavors, that garnered him many friends the world over. His travels included a sojourn in Trinidad & Tobago, a stint working on a British construction project on Ascension Island and a religious pilgramage to Israel


Kenneth was the oldest of five siblings and is survived by Seon (Olevia), USA; Eunice, Grenada; Judith (Tyrone), USA; James (Veronica), St Thomas, USVI; and Oswald, USA.

Kenneth was a husband, stepfather, father-in-law, uncle, and cousin to many and a faithful friend to Ali and Levi. Kenneth was helpful, caring, loving, generous, hard-working and an ever giving soul.

A loving father, Kenneth had four children; Jeff (Daisy), Debra (Francis), Kennedy (Carol), and Karen (Asrat) (of Theresa, Toronto, Canada). Kenneth was an adoring grandfather to 15 grandchildren; Jeff's Odel and Ezekiel in Trinidad, Arlene, Onella, Adam and Kendra in Toronto; Debra's Crystel, Shenice, Deshaun, Sarraiyah; Kennedy's Kimberly and Johnathan; and Karen's Tyneshu, Mulu, Selam.

Kenneth was a proud great-grandfather of Omari, Naiylah, Ny'arri, Neliah, Ryan, Malcolm, Johnathan Jr, Theodore, and one unborn, due Jan 2015.

A man of abiding faith and a longtime Christian, Kenneth was called to his heavenly reward on Dec 30, 2014 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada surrounded by family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
