Kevin Burgess

December 12, 1972 — August 17, 2024

Kevin James Burgess, 51, of Milton, Ontario, passed away peacefully watching his favourite Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday, August 17, 2024.

Kevin was born on December 12, 1972, in Scarborough, Ontario, the second child and eldest son of Jim and Betty Burgess. Kevin grew up in Meadowvale, attending West Credit Secondary School and George Brown Community College. Kev, as known to family and loved ones, had a relentless passion for sports and learning new skills. There never was a job Kev couldn’t master and become the hardest worker at, a sentiment echoed by everyone he worked with over his life. He was devoted in his passion for the Buffalo Bills, Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leafs, and although they let him down year after year, he would never allow anyone to say a negative word about them.

Kevin had so much love and pride in his daughter, nieces and nephews and friends’ children. He was very proud of them all and would routinely talk your ear off about something they’d accomplished. He’d light up when talking about the loved ones in his life.

Kevin is survived by his daughter, Kendyl Burgess (mother Deanna Longfield), his partner, Nancy Armsden (son Ethan), his siblings, Kelly Wessell (husband Mike), Janis Walker (husband Doug), Kirk Burgess (wife Jennifer), Kent Burgess (wife Erin), Brad Fulton (wife Kelly), Stepfather John Bolder, nieces and nephews; Courtney, Steven, Kayce, Cody, Aidan, Hannah, Nathaniel, Lucas, Benjamin, Nolan and Emma, Uncle and Aunt, Jim and Corinne Ingall (cousins Trevor, Joann, Shannon, Lauren), cousin Judith Powers (sons Jamie and Brent) and loved ones Heather and Colin Topping (sons John and Chase)

A Celebration of Life for Kevin will take place on Monday, September 16, 2024, between 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., at the Royal Canadian Legion, 21 Charles St, Milton, Ontario. All are welcome to attend and share memories with Kevin’s family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed, in honour of Kevin, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
