Kieran James Stewart Dasgupta
27 November 1988—7 December 2021.
“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.” (Thomas Campbell)
Suddenly, shockingly, Kieran died in his sleep of an acute coronary thrombosis in the early morning of 7 December. He is deeply mourned by his mother, Geri Dasgupta, his aunt and uncle, Kathy and Tony Forman in England, and by his many friends in Toronto.
Born and raised in Toronto, Kieran enjoyed the regular visits from his grandma and also loved going to England to see family there. Throughout his life he created enduring friendships which provided him essential support after the death of his father Debasis in 2000. He found his path when he enrolled in Media Studies at Centennial College in 2013 where he excelled and was awarded a scholarship into the Advertising and Marketing program in which he distinguished himself as its top student. In winter 2017, in his final semester, Kieran began an internship at UM Worldwide, a global media agency. He was hired by UM where he worked successfully for more than three years in marketing, investment and connection planning. In November 2020, Kieran took a position as Supervisor of Addressable Strategy at Matterkind, a data-driven marketing firm.
Kieran loved playing and watching soccer, a game he first learned at the age of 5 when he registered in the North York Hearts. He had tickets for the 2020 Euro games in London and Rome, although the pandemic precluded that trip. Kieran also loved music and played guitar and keyboard. As a child, Kieran first visited Algonquin Park with his parents. As an adult, the highlight of each year was the canoe trip with his friends to Algonquin Park, a place he loved.
