Klaas Dykstra

DYKSTRA, Klaas   It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Klaas Dykstra at the age of 94. He was born in the Netherlands on January 17, 1927 and died August 15, 2021 at Roberta Place nursing home in Barrie, ON. As a young Sargent in the Dutch army, he met and married Suzanne, who still lovingly refers to him as the ‘old soldier’. In 1951 they immigrated to Canada and raised their children on a farm near Owen Sound. His life has been a testimony of his persevering spirit and devotion to his wife. They recently celebrated 70 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife and 5 of their 7 children, 23 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. A private family funeral will be held at Jennett Funeral Home in Barrie on August 18th, 2021.
