Lallita Khokher (nee Jacob)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lallita Unassi Khokher at the age of 86, on the morning of 6 March 2024.

Lallita will be terribly missed by her family including her husband Peter Khokher, her daughter Patricia Khokher & son-in-law Ajit Sidhu, her son Reginald Khokher, her nephew Emile Leeanan, and her brother Samson Jacob & sister-in-law Catherine Jacob.

Lallita was also deeply loved by many pre-deceased family members including Ruby and Eric Leeanan, Ernest Leeanan, Mona Jacob, Mark Wadman, and her parents Samuel and Grace Jacob.

Aside from her lifelong commitment to her family, Lallita derived great pleasure and satisfaction from her career as a teacher. She began teaching as a young woman in Pakistan after completing a MA in History. Later, she continued her career upon moving to Canada in the 1970s. She was a shining star in the classroom, beloved by the many students whose lives she touched over decades.

In her private time, she was an amazing cook, constantly preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. Lallita also loved shopping and Bollywood movies, spending cherished time with her children. She had a beautiful smile and the most generous and giving heart – a true gift from God to the world.
