Lana Russell

With deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Lana Russell (Lyver), aged 72, on July 12, 2024. She was surrounded by family at the Ottawa General Hospital.

Lana was the loving wife of the late Lawrence Russell and daughter of the late Ruby and Anciel Hartlen. She is survived by her brother Thomas Lyver (Nilah) and her sister Linda Demerais (Doug).

She will be mourned by a large extended family, including her sister-in-law, Eileen Park (late brother-in-law Jack Park) and many nieces and nephews—in Ottawa, Rhonda (André) and Brad (Mary Lynn); in Alberta, Karen, Claude (Kelly) and Annette (deceased); in Nova Scotia, Meredith; and in Newfoundland, Johnny (Tracy).

Lana will also be remembered by her great-nieces and great-nephews—Melissa, Alysha, Corinne, Renée, Brittney, Amanda, Melissa, Alora, Evan, Theoren, Michael, Aryton, Lando, and Athenan. Lana also had 20 great, great-nieces and great, great-nephews.

She'll be missed by her many friends and neighbours. A special thanks to those who were there for her when she needed them. Respecting Lana's wishes, there will not be a funeral. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Canadian Cancer Society.
