Lawrence Thomas Welch II (99 years old) of Cornwall, Ontario, passed away peacefully, at home on Oct. 23, 2023
Larry was born in Kingston, Ontario on December 10, 1923. He almost made it to his 100th birthday! He was a Halifax bomber pilot in WW2 and was very proud of his participation. He was a member of the Legion. After the war he attended U of Toronto where he obtained his degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Domtar Inc and for the last 10 years of his career worked for Stora Copperburg in Port Hawkesbury, NS. He retired in 1988 and bought his dream house at 418 Sydney St where he spent the last 36 years of his life. His main hobbies were family genealogy and golf.
Larry survived his wife Mary Dempster and his sister Helen and brothers Edward, James and Donald. The remaining sibling (Janet) is now 97 and resides in Calgary, AB. He is survived by his three children Mary, Tom and Rob and his grandchildren Victoria (Ross Rowsell), Arienne and Mckinley and his great grandchildren Ian, Allison and Evelyn.
The funeral service will be a private affair.
