ADDLEY (Brydges), Linda Rose (nee Showler)
Linda passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2019 with her daughter by her side at Hope Street Terrace Nursing Home in Port Hope. Linda was in her 72nd year.
Linda was born in London, Ontario on September 29, 1947. She was the youngest daughter of the late Edward and Annie (Heather) Showler. Linda loved and adored her late older sister Shirley.
Linda grew up and resided on Sanders Street most of her life. Linda was proud to be living in a home built in the 1930's by her father and uncles. Her home was renovated in 1975 to accommodate her family. Linda lived on other streets in the Hamilton Road area and she lived a few years in Petawawa.
Linda loved her home, community and its history. Linda enjoyed her volunteer positions on many committees in her school, community and church. Linda was a dedicated member of Grace United Church and the London Spiritualist Church.
Linda married the late Gary Addley in 1965 and they divorced in 1990. For several years she shared her home with her beloved fiancé, the late Steven Brydges and his children.
Family was very important to Linda. She loved to share stories about time spent with her late sister Shirley and surviving brother in law Rick Hyldtoft. Linda was sister in law of the late Betty White and late Allan (survived by Janice) Addley.
Loved Mother of Deborah (Jamie) Murray, Elizabeth (Chris) White, Samantha Prohaszka, and Lewis Brydges (Aline Rossignol).
Proud grandmother of Stefanie Murray (Mike Rutale), Hayden Murray, Sarah, Krista, & Scott White, Alessandra and Isaac Prohaszka.
Her greatest joy was being great-grandmother to Madelynn Rutale. They shared many wonderful moments together this year.
Linda will be lovingly remembered by her nieces Lori (late Wayne) Brown and Lisa Addley, and nephew Michael Addley.
Linda will be fondly remembered by her cousins and friends.

At Linda's request, cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 4:00 PM at Trinity United Church Community Centre officiated by Rev. Carol Burrows in the Sanctuary; 76 Doulton Street London, followed immediately by a potluck meal in the Great Hall.
