Linda Lafleur

December 1, 1956 — July 16, 2024

It is with great sadness we share that Linda Jean Lafleur (née Watt) passed away peacefully at Princess Margaret Hospital on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Linda’s incredible sense of humour and strong focus on the needs and creativity of others, continued throughout her life. This was never more evident than when she was dealing with Lupus, surgeries, radiation and even during her short stay in palliative care.

As per her wishes, there will be no formal services. Cremation has taken place and a private interment at the Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery will take place at a future time. Linda would not like to be remembered with sadness, but rather by taking a quiet walk in nature or among the trees, spending time reminiscing, sharing stories (funny or ironic!), remembrances through photos, expressing your creativity, crafting, laughing or taking a special trip (she loved to travel) would all be things she would enjoy.

Linda has purchased a butterfly plaque from the UHN Foundation on the Commemorative Giving Wall located at Toronto General Hospital as a thank you to all the medical staff and medical professionals for their years of support. It will say:

In celebration of

LINDA LAFLEUR

“On to my next adventure…”

Loved and supported by my family & friends

July 2024

In lieu of flowers, Linda supported UHNfoundation.ca/tribute (416-603-5300), Sleeping Children Around the World – Canada and War Amps.

Linda crossed paths with so many people that we couldn’t possibly hope to reach out to every one of you, but we ask your support in passing Linda’s thanks and appreciation to everyone who touched her life in such a happy, positive way.

The outpouring of support for the family has been phenomenal and a tribute to the kind of people to which Linda surrounded herself, including childhood and school friends, neighbours, extended family, medical staff, medical professionals and the dance community. On behalf of Linda, THANK YOU!

Linda is predeceased by her mother Marilyn Winifred Watt (née Relf), her father Ernest Andrew Watt. Linda is survived by her husband of 44 years, Denis Lafleur; sons Andrew Marc Lafleur and Ethan Michael Lafleur; sister Kimberly Ann Richard (née Watt).
