In Loving Memory

Lionel Joseph Norman Alberga Townsend, known as Joe for short, and of age 50 passed away in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, on Sunday, November 13, 2022. He was born August. 7, 1972, in Manchester, England to Lynel and Paulette Townsend.

Joe worked in home renovations and enjoyed the creativeness and freedom in turning someone’s dream into reality.  He was a family man and a Christian who loved to cook, had an infectious smile and a happy go-lucky personality. Joe is remembered as a true and loyal friend because he always knew what to do to comfort someone, cheer them up, and make them feel better. Joe is survived by his partner Rachel Sauro, stepdaughter Ava Sauro, father Lynel Townsend, stepmother Joyce Townsend, sisters, Sara Davis, Bridget Heath, Marie Busuttil, Audra Townsend and Meghan Sproule, aunts Beverly Walker, Hyacinth Terrell, cousins Robert Walker, Jason Walker, Karen Walker and Sophia Hurst, and nieces Jasmine Busuttil, Toni Heath, Soraya Sproule, and nephew Dalton Sproule. He is preceded in death by his mother Paulette Townsend, and brother Herbert Townsend, and uncle John Walker.

Visitation will be held at the Mississauga City Baptist Church, 3434 Cawthra Road, ON L5A 2X7,  on Tuesday November 29th,  2022 at 11:00 a.m. to be immediately followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm.

We kindly ask that any flowers, cards, or letters of condolence be directed to the Mississauga City Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 29th prior to the visitation and service.
