Livio Italo Balanzin

After a 12 year battle with pancreatic cancer it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Livio Italo Balanzin on November 10, 2022 at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie Ontario at the age of 84 with his children and partner by his side. Livio was predeceased by his wife Suzanne, his parents Giovanni & Ilda, brothers Attilio & Giovanni and his sisters Rita & Rita II. Dear brother of Franco, Antonietta & Giuseppe. Partner of Doreen Gale, Father of Lisa House (Robert), Tina Wilson (Thomas), and Loretta Balanzin (Jamie), and Laurie. Cherished Nono (Grandfather) to Jesse Bascevan and Suzanne Gilbert, Brent, Janelle, and Julie Lynn. Livio was born in Italy in 1938. He immigrated to Canada at the young age of 18 not speaking any english but seeking a better life. He began his career as a carpenter and moved from Montreal to Toronto where he met his wife Suzanne and began his family having 3 daughters who were the joy of his life. Later on after Suzannes passing he met Doreen Gale who he spent his final 22 years with. They lived in Innisfil ON where he and Doreen lived, loved and cherished their lives together. Livio loved fishing, boating, the outdoors and spending time with his family. The most important thing in Livios life was his children and grandchildren. He battled his cancer for 12 years never giving up and always fighting until the very end. Livio managed his illness with strength , courage and grace and wanted nothing more than to spend as much time with his family as possible. In his final days he was surrounded by his children, partner and family and friends.

No funeral will take place but a celebration of Livios life will be held on November 26, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Livios home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Livios name to the Pancreatic Cancer Canada Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
