Lorene Marie Mabee

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorene Marie Mabee in her 90th year.  Lorene passed away peacefully at Douglas Memorial Hospital on October 5, 2023.

She was predeceased by:  Her parents Lorne and Pearl (Irene), husband Donald, daughter Katherine (Bill Sr.), sister Patricia (Ronald), brother Edward (Ruthann), and niece Sherri (Tim).

Survived by her children, Dianne, Douglas (Nancy), Shelley, and Paul (Nikki); grandchildren Jason, Krista, Michael, Mindy, Julie, Jennifer, and Tyler; 10 great grandchildren; sister Jacquie (Terry); nieces and nephews David, Rick, Bonnie, Jeff, Scott, Jamie, and Darryl.

Lorene was born in Brantford Ontario on June 9, 1933 to Lorne and Irene, forming the name "Lorene".  She spent her childhood and younger years in Fort Erie and Tillsonburg.  As a wife and mother she also enjoyed working for the Brockville Recorder while living in Maitland.  She returned to Fort Erie in 1970 and later became the Treasurer of the Fort Erie Civil Servants Credit Union (Canada Customs) and then the Treasurer of the Fort Erie Credit Union.  Lorene enjoyed detailed crafts, Elvis, and most of all the Buffalo Bills.  To see them win a Super Bowl was her only wish every Christmas and birthday. Hopefully this is the year they do it, for you Ma.
