On the morning of December 4, 2022, Lorna U. Santos peacefully passed away after a long fought battle against pancreatic cancer. Lorna was visited and comforted by family and friends at her residence in Toronto, Ontario. She lived 50 long years of hardship and solidarity with family and friends.
Lorna is the daughter of Lucy Arana, the late Samson Uy, and Efren Nicolas; sister to 4 siblings; Sammy Uy, Luzviminda Uy, Lorena Cezar, and Sambee Uy; mother of Carlee Santos, Rhylaus Uy and grandmother of Franco Santos. She is also close friends with Joyce Ferrer, Roel Salinda, and Daryl Alejado.
She was born in Quezon City, Philippines, on January 2, 1972, and graduated from Galang Medical Centre with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She enjoyed cross-stitching and cooking as her favourite hobbies, while chatting with friends as time passed. In the early 2000s, she decided to find a promising future in Canada in hopes of supporting her family. Through her determination and persistence, she endured countless jobs and was able to confide with the many friends she had gained along the way. Her cheerful and bright attitude attracts all to her side as a person that was easily-approachable and a shoulder to rely on.
We would like to thank everyone that has shown their support and prayers throughout her whole journey. Cremation has already taken place with private inurnment. An hour-long memorial service is scheduled at 6pm on December 15, 2022 at Forest Lawn Mausoleum & Cremation Centre, 4570 Yonge St, North York, ON (If using GPS, search for 10 Linelle Street to be brought directly to their entrance.).
