It is with great sadness, heartache, and love that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Mum, Lorna Catherine Shepherd. Through to the end, no matter the failings of her body and mind, her heart was filled with love for her children, Wes (wife Anne), Wayne, Susan (husband Gene), Warren (wife Miao) and the light of her life, her precious angel Gillian. And she never forgot her granddaughters, Alex and Brenna.

Family was the focus of Mum’s life, hopscotching the world from India to England, and then from England to Canada, not to satisfy her own ambitions, but to provide a better life for her children. She sacrificed and struggled, yet never complained, working odd shifts to accommodate her children’s needs. Her only goal was to make sure her family was safe and felt loved. And this she did without fail. This single-minded devotion is a testament to the beautiful soul that she was. She will always be missed. She will never be forgotten. In our hearts, always…

A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery & Crematorium in their Willow Room on April 9, 2022 at 2:00 pm. (Note: If you plan on attending, make sure to go to the Crematorium and not the Church).

In lieu of flowers we ask that any donations be made to Hospice Vaughan in Mum’s name, the wonderful facility that provided peace, calm, and dignity on her last day. Their kindness won’t be forgotten.
