Lorraine Shirley Louise (Hodder) Cheverie
February 21,1942- April 6, 2022
After a long journey with Dementia, Lorraine passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side at the Village of Humber Heights-LTC on Wednesday, April 6th, 2022. Daughter to Rose Anne and Frank Hodder (both deceased), survived by her brothers (Morley and Eric), Mother to Pat (Tony), Sandra (Ernie), Nana to: Daniel, Kyra, Kendra and Great Nana to Lia. We would like to extend our thanks to the wonderful care our Mother received from Senior Link Day Program and the staff at the Village of Humber Heights – their kindness and compassion over the years has meant a great deal to us.
Lorraine brought optimism and sunshine to her every day. She was outrageous! She was a spark of joy and a breath of fresh air. Lorraine's humour and lovable sass drew people to her and left a lasting impression. She was delightfully quirky. She loved and was loved.
Lorraine always gravitated towards joyful things, like flowers and sunshine and music. She was expressive and enjoyed standing out. She had a unique flare and an easy laugh.
She rolled with her losses with grace and quiet acceptance, never allowing them to extinguish her spark for life. Lorraine lived her last years impressing everyone. She was a vision of atonement, good humour, grace and generosity. She looked forward to meeting God, and she journeyed towards this rendezvous with a tremendous amount of grace and joyful anticipation.
The family will be having a private celebration of life at a later date. Please feel free to visit the following links with respect to in memoriam donations.

“I am the wind in the trees
and the song of a bird.
I am moonbeams in a midnight sky
and a glorious rainbow after the storm.
I am morning dew
and freshly-fallen snow.
I am a butterfly flying overhead
and a puppy happily at play.
I am a gentle touch
a warm embrace.
Open your heart to know…I am not gone.
Reach deep into your soul… You will find me.
I am here.
Have no fear, I am with you,
Always”.
