GAREAU, Louis Joseph Yvan
September 03, 1933 – April 23, 2022
Yvan was born in Ottawa, Ontario. Peacefully, at the age of 88 he died after a short illness. At a young age he joined the Canadian Air Force where he worked as an aerial photographer surveying the Arctic and later worked as a Medical Photographer at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto for 25 years. He led a long and interesting life, travelled extensively and enjoyed many hobbies, especially music, photography and motorbike riding. Yvan leaves behind his wife, Veronica of 34 years, his son Kimberly Gareau and daughter Lori Clarke. He will be fondly remembered by his cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. We will miss him more than words can say. Our sincere thanks to Dr. Kate Greenaway and the palliative care team at the Toronto Grace Health Centre for their care and compassion during his illness.
Following Yvan’s wishes his ashes will be scattered at Bronte Creek Provincial Park. In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of Yvan can be made to the Toronto Grace Health Care at 650 Church Street, Toronto, Ontario, M4Y 2G5.
