In loving memory of Lowell Sherwood Strain, who dedicated his life to serving and protecting others.
Lowell is survived by his wife Helen, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He adored with all of his heart his daughter Lisa and his son the late Gregory.
He is fondly remembered by his grandchildren Jordan, Denin, Chase, Luca and Rebecca.
Lowell spent his career as a Firefighter for the City of York, where he selflessly put the well-being of his community above all else.
He found joy in various hobbies and interests that brought him closer to his loved ones and friends. Whether he was hitting the ice for old timers hockey games, teeing off at the Firefighters golf club, or navigating the waters on a boat, Lowell lived life to the fullest. He loved water skiing, downhill and cross country skiing, motorcycling, and always attended The Annual Firefighters Hockey Tournaments and saved every annual news letter sent out.
As we mourn the loss of Lowell Strain, let us remember him not with sorrow but with gratitude for having known such a remarkable individual. His courage and kindness will live on in our hearts forever. Interment will take place at the Wasaga Beach Cemetery on Friday May 24, 2024 at 1:00pm.
