Hello everyone,
It is with much sadness I announce the passing of my beloved wife of 44 years..
LYDIA RAIMANN-GASS
After a long and courageous battle with cancer Lydia passed away peacefully at our home in Oakville, with me by her side, on Tuesday August 17, 2021. Lydia loved being a flight attendant and everyone she worked with. And everyone loved her. Lydia retired from AC in October 2019 and soon after became ill never getting the opportunity to enjoy a well deserved retirement.
Lydia would have been 68 years young on October 17th. A celebration of life will be held, and announced on this site, when this terrible pandemic permits. Below is a picture of Lydia and I in 1987, on the crew bus headed for Germany. The first time we got to fly together. Remaining in her life are myself my son Dean Raimann-Gass her only sibling Karen Raimann
Christine Cristopher and Ava. Lydia was a Flight Attendant at Wardair, Canadian AirLines International and finally Air Canada from 1982 until she retired in 2019 due to health issues. Our favorite layover and vacation destination was Hawaii which we visited often. Dean, Christine and I will be taking her ashes there where they will be eased into the wind atop a mountain so she can hopefully continue to travel the world throughout eternity. So many friends who responded to my Facebook post admired her passion for helping people and having an infectious smile. She was a loyal and devoted friend and the most perfect life companion any man could imagine. She loved Art, reading a good book, watching a good movie, exploring culture during her international travels and mostly visiting museums .
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Breast Cancer Society of Canada .
