Brunette, Lynda, Helen Yvonne passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, after a long and valiant battle with cancer at Kensington Hospice on December 17th 2018 in her 62nd year of life. Lynda was predeceased by her loving husband Clifford Nelson Bailey of 23 years. Beloved mother to Joshua Brian O'Kell and Emma Elizabeth Brunette. Cherished daughter of the late Helen and Eugene Brunette. Caring Sister of Robert, Ronald, Bill (predeceased), Dave, Dianne, Larry, Frank (predeceased), Ross (predeceased), Joseph, Kathy, Sandra, Roy and Dena and a very proud aunt to many nieces and nephews. Lynda was very comforted by all the people who spent time with her during the last months of her life. A woman of many talents, and smart as a whip. she could often be found with her nose in a true crime novel by Ann Rice, gardening in the summer, watching HGTV for interior decorating inspiration, and on Sundays catching up on her favourite soap opera coronation street. She taught the value of hard work through her actions, loved her family fiercely, and was passionate about her community through her work at Cecil Community Centre and St.Felix Centre. Lynda will be deeply missed by the great many lives she touched. Special thanks to Princess Margaret hospital, Toronto Western hospital, and Kensington hospice for treating Lynda with care and compassion in last year of her life.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for a donation to be made in Lynda's name at Kensington Hospice. The visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Crematorium on December 27th, at 6:00-8:00 pm and December 28th, at 10:00-11:00 am. The service will also be at Forest Lawn at 11:00 am located at 4570 Yonge street. The internment will be at Beechwood cemetery at 12:45 pm located at 7241 Jane street. Following the interment there will be a celebration of life at Kathy Brunettes home located at 58 Rangeley drive in Scarborough.
