Mabel Rideout

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother also known as GG, Mabel Belinda Rideout. Born on March 9th 1925 in Norris Point, Newfoundland and passed away peacefully at home in Scarborough, Ontario on October 28th 2022 in her 97th year.

Mabel had an extraordinary way of looking at life. She celebrated the joys of life and was grateful for each and every day she was on this earth. She enjoyed the small pleasure in life like knitting, playing cards, bingo, casino, crosswords, puzzles, spending time with family and of course ice cream. She had a quick wit and an ever-quicker smile for those she loved. Mabel had an uncanny way of making you feel special and loved. She was kind and gentle and had the ability to see the best in people which afforded us the vision to see the best in each other. The world is a little less bright without her, but her glow on the world will last lifetimes.

Mabel leaves many loved ones behind and will always be remembered in the hearts of her children, Rick, Rod (Heidi), Gary (Patricia), Darlene (Shane), Keith (Lea) & Lorie (Jack). Her grandchildren, Eric, Kelly, Nancy, Kate, Warren, Laurie, Kyle, Stephanie, Melissa, Julia, Robert, Michael & Ashley. Her 17 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, family & friends.

A celebration to honor her life will be announced at a later date.
